A Little Piece of Heaven

As most of  my friends know I have moved from Eden Valley to a city. Also as you can tell by my first post that I love the country and mountains. We were never really meant to live in the city.  I guess some one has to be there in order to make it a city, but that wasn't God's original plan.

My daughter Brittany and I lived and worked in Eden Valley for a little over a year until her accident this past June. God blessed us both by being there and He knew exactly where she needed to be to bring her closer to Him. As much as it hurts that she is no longer here, by His Grace He answered my prayers to bring her closer to Him. I will one day write about that also. But right now I am not ready.

God has blessed me even in the city.  Last Monday Nov 22, my son Eric and I searched on the web for a peaceful park with trees and nature. Even in the parks there seems to be no refuge to get away from the sirens and very stressful city noises. While we were there I prayed, "Dear God please help, I need to get away to a peaceful environment and be with you." As always He answers. Eric searched again and found a park just outside the city and I found out it was about 10 miles from where we're staying with a friend temporarily. We figured it was just a little park but at least it wasn't directly in the city.

WOW! ! !   When we arrived there, I was amazed! It was like God put it there just for us.  I couldn't really tell there was even a city for miles.  It was a Nature Preserve with 2,820 Acres. Some of that was a little Zoo, some a golf course, but most of it was a nature preserve and a polo area where they used to have polo games and kept horses. God is so Good !

We had a nice little talk with the lady that worked in the welcome/information center and she said that the nature preserve area doesn't allow pets because of the natural wildlife habitation. Which I can totally understand. Then she showed us their map where Bear, my little dog, can go.  It was the polo area and had 1, 500 acres with trails and picnic areas.  We drove around the park and  followed the map to see where she was talking about and it was beautiful. I just know that we have a place to go to when I want to feel closer to God and get away.  Praise the Lord He takes care of ALL our needs.

Yesterday, Nov 23, was Brittany's Birthday and she would of been 24. Since God gave us a wonderful place to go we packed a picnic lunch and spent the afternoon out there until dark. It seemed much more bearable and less stressful in order to deal with this.  In a sinful world you can still feel and see Him in ALL of His Blessings right in front of our eyes. God is so Merciful.

I know there are blessings in the city as well, but I needed, "A Little Piece of Heaven" to feel His presence and to have a little peaceful reminder of what Heaven is going to be like. Even my son Eric felt more at peace and made several comments on how he feels less stressful and he can think clearer.

Jesus is coming soon but until then I pray that you all find "A Little Piece of Heaven."

  1. I'm glad you had a blessing in nature. You feel so much closer to the Lord if you dwell in His creation rather than in the city!
